Five tips for gel ball beginners!
Want to get into gel ball but don’t know where to start? This quick guide will give you the tips you need to know to get started on the right foot!
1. Hold it properly!
This may seem like common knowledge, I know, but how to hold a blaster properly isn’t well known to those who don’t have the proper background. Don’t hold your elbow out; you’ll look silly.
This is the right way to hold a gel blaster:
See how his left elbow is drawn in and not poking upright?
2. Make sure you have a good pair of shoes.
Again, this might seem like common sense, but you truly have no idea how much running you do in a game until you’ve played. You’ll vary from running fast to pacing slow, changing directions in a second, and diving for cover. The amount of movement required of you from a gel ball game is intense, so make sure you’ve got the right shoe support for it.
3. Connect with a local team
The best way to get to know a new hobby is to surround yourself with those who are experts at it! There are plenty of awesome teams within gel ball that are completely open to helping out new players. Head into one of our 16 stores to ask our staff for their recommendations within your area, or simply send us a message!
4. Listen to the game brief.
Make sure you get to your game on time to know the rules and objectives before playing. This is the most important tip! Don’t be that guy that’s late.
5. Unload your magazine after each game!
This is important for blaster maintenance. If you don’t do this, it will slowly deteriorate your mag internals. Over time the internals will weaken as normal, but to prolong the life of your mag as much as possible, please empty it after each game. If not, you could have feeding issues, blaster jams, and more!
